The World Foreign Language Academy of Shanghai is a newly founded chapter in the YSL project. We are from a school that aims to educate the new generation of Chinese, who posses the attributes of caring, elegance, and generosity, and will influence the world in the future. WFLA has already established a program in which all the 10th grade students go to Dabie Mountain, one of the villages in the poverty area of China, and participate in teaching the left-behind children for a week. Students are provided with opportunities to meet children with a different background and living environment from what they are used to; the program also enables them to be more open-minded and caring towards global issues. We choose to become a member of the Youth Spotlight program since we want to persist in the voluntary work done in the Dabie Mountatin. We would like to expand the youth spotlight project and profit more left-behind children through soccer and help them become more confident.
